Chamber of Commerce awards annual honors

The Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce reveled in the spirit of Mardi Gras at its annual banquet, held last week at the Civic Center.
The banquet, complete with Mardi Gras decorations and attendees sporting brightly colored beads, marked the changing of the guard in the chamber's presidency. The chamber also presented its annual business and volunteer awards.
Out-going president David Langston presented the gavel to in-coming president Larry Hannah. Hannah said he hoped to capitalize on the work Langston and the chambers did in the past year, and continue to improve for the future.
"I want to make sure we take care and recognize the businesses that are here," Hannah said. "And I want to educate people on what the chamber does."
Other officers for the year are: John Anderson, chairman-elect; Leigh Clemons, treasurer; Lynn Warren, secretary; and David Langston, past-president. Chamber president is Susan Hines and executive assistant is Maryann Smith.
Chamber awards were presented to:
Members of the banquet committee were Bettye English, chairperson; Leigh Clemons, Melissa Jones, Catherine Anne Sims, JoAnn Stephenson and Faye Walker.
