Valentine's Day is at hand.
1919-February 13, Less illicit booze will be available for tomorrow's Valentine's Day socials. Morgan County Sheriff J. V. May and other officers raided two stills today. They were located east of Wilhite and were about a mile apart.
1940-February 14, The seniors of MCHS celebrated Valentine's Day by embarking on an officially unauthorized trek to Cold Springs. Commonly known as "sneak day," these trips are usually taken annually.
1957-February 15, Tommy Ed Roberts is being seen frequently these days "speeding" around town on his new bike.
1952-February 16, Buford Roberts entertained this afternoon with a coffee in honor of Lib Peck, bride-elect of Joe Speake.
1938-February 17, Eric Mitchell is opening a dancing studio tonight at 8 o'clock over Puckett and Orr's drug store. Folks interested in dancing can now learn how. Girls who are tired of their guys constantly stepping on their toes while fox-trotting will undoubtedly be delighted for the local availability of dance instruction.
1920-February 18, Several area students are involved either on stage or behind it in connection with a play in rehearsal for presentation soon at the Auburn campus theater. The name of the play is "Suppressed Desires." It is a satirical comedy.
1952-February 19, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Prince are just about the happiest newlyweds in Hartselle. Mrs. Prince is the former Betty Jane Stewart.
1984-February 19, First Alabama Bank now has an ATM unit. This will come in handy when cash is needed hurriedly in anticipation of a night on the town.
1940-February 20, To the great delight of couples locally, Hartselle is coming to the front as far as up-to-date drug stores are concerned. People's Drug Store has stepped out with a brand new interior decoration. The store has been remodeled and changed about entirely. For local couples the soda fountain is the biggest attraction.
