Funeral for Elsie Maples Nuby, 86, of Hartselle was Thursday, Nov. 21, at 2 p.m. at New Center Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Brown officiating.
Burial was in Cedar Creek Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Nuby died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, at Hartselle Medical Center. A native of Morgan County, she worked as a spinner at Goodyear Mills and was a member of New Center Baptist Church. She was the widow of Marvin B. Nuby Sr., and sister of the late John Maples, Pat Maples, Oscar "Buck" Maples and Tressie Callahan. She was stepmother of the late J.C. Nuby and stepsister of the late Ernest Maples, Walter Lemley and Pearl Baker.
She is survived by one son, Marvin B. Nuby, Jr., of Hartselle; one daughter, Sandra Nuby Meissner of Prattville; two stepsons, Curtis Glenn Nuby and Garland Leon Nuby, both of Hartselle; one stepdaughter, Dovie Nuby Riethmaier of Gardendale; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Henry Gibson, Donnie Lawrence, James A. Riethmaier, Michael Reithmaier, Michael Speegle and Scotty Maples.
