Funeral for Mary Jane Bennett, 83, of Decatur was Friday, November 1 at 11 a.m. at Priceville Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Wendall Allen and Dewitt Crowe officiating.
Burial was in Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Bennett died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002, at Summerford Nursing Home in Falkville. A native of Morgan County, she was a homemaker. She was the widow of Leroy Bennett and the mother of the late Jimmy Bennett and the late Bunyan R. Bennett.
She is survived by three daughters, Sara Orme of Huntsville, Libby Crowe of Somerville and Judy Henderson of Hartselle; two brothers, Charles Slaten of Somerville and James Slaten of Decatur; four sisters, Helen Thomas of Somerville, Kathryn Lillbeck of Ohio, Betty McCarley of Decatur and Nannie Whaley of Falkville; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Carl Orme, Tony Orme, Tommy Crowe, Mark Emerson, David Grantland, Adam Bennett and Steven E. Bennett.
