Funeral for Emma Pickens, 94, of Danville was Saturday, Sept. 14, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jack Bailey and the Jerry Glover officiating.
Burial was in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Pickens died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002, at her residence. She taught school in Morgan County for 36 years, retiring at Crestline Elementary School. She then worked at the family business, Valley Feed Services, in Decatur. She was a member of Danville United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Farris Pickens.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas Pickens of Decatur and Ronnie Pickens of Danville; one brother, Marshall Porter of Lexington; two sisters, Dona Adams of Liberty Grove, Tenn. and Nancy Dunnam of Knoxville, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mike Wallace, Judson Adams, Turner Porter, Jim Pickens, Gary Templeton and Troy Dunnam.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of The Valley, Decatur, AL.
