Funeral for Lawrence W. Cole, 85, of Hartselle was Sunday, Sept. 8, at 2:30 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church with the Revs. David Weaver and W. L. Cole officiating.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Cole died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at Hartselle Medical Center. A native of Morgan County, he was a railroad engineer for L&N Railroad for 37 years. He was a member of Inglenook Baptist Church and attended Salem United Methodist Church. He was the grandfather of the late Gordon Speegle.
He is survived by his wife, Lola Cole of Hartselle; one daughter, DeLorese Speegle of Hartselle; one brother, the Rev. W. L. Cole of Hartselle; two sisters, Bessie Byrd of Hartselle and Freeda Adams of Birmingham; one grandson; two great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Brad Speegle, Johnny Adams, Eugene Cole, Dwight Cole, Bob Miller and Ronald Cole.
