Funeral for Franklin Joe Bates, 41, of Hartselle was Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 10 a.m. at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church with the Revs. Buddy Barnett and Equator Black officiating.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Bates died Friday, Sept. 6, 2002, at Decatur General Hospital. A native of Morgan County, he was a self-employed siding contractor.
He is survived by one son, Justin Joe Bates of Hartselle; his mother, Novil Bates of Hartselle; and one brother, O'Neal Bates of Loxahatchee, Fla.
Pallbearers were Lloyd Brooks, Jimmy Brooks, Ed Turrentine, Larry Blevins, Dale Murphy and Randy Vinzant.
