Funeral for Roy Hill, 52, of Hartselle, was Monday, July 29, at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Coomer officiating.
Burial was in Johnson Chapel Cemetery with military honors.
Mr. Hill died Friday, July 26, 2002, at University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital. A native of Walker County, he was a 1968 graduate of Carbon Hill High School and was retired from the U.S. Army after serving 20 years. He was a member of Austinville Church of God, where he served on the Board of Elders, taught Sunday school and worked with youth.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Lake Hill of Hartselle; one son, Brent Taylor Hill of Hartselle; three brothers, John W. Hill Jr. of Jasper, Charles Hill of Carbon Hill and Leslie Hill of Noonan, Ga.; and one sister, Janice Freeman of Tuscaloosa.
Pallbearers were Steve McClellan, Sammy Davis, Eric Davis, Jason Palmer, Ron Boyd, David Linderman, Joe Woodall and George White.
