Funeral for William Richard Patterson, 85, of Hartselle was Monday, July 22, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with the Revs. T. Reynolds Hall and Royce Teague officiating.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Patterson died Friday, July 19, 2002, at Hartselle Medical Center. A native of Morgan County, he was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church for more than 45 years, where he served as treasurer. He was a veteran of World War II in the U.S. Air Force Signal Corps in North Africa and Italy. He was a carpenter, cabinet maker and businessman before serving as a mail carrier for more than 20 years in Hartselle. He was the widower of Martha Marie Wallace Patterson.
He is survived by two sons, William Anthony Patterson of Oakman and Ronald Steven Patterson of Andalusia; and one daughter, Vanessa Marie Nesmith of Hartselle.
Pallbearers were Justin Nesmith, Nathan Patterson, Bryan Patterson, Hamil Lawrence, Dwight Standridge and Corey Loney.
