Optimists seeking junior golfers

The Optimist Club of Decatur will host a junior golf tournament on June 10 at Burningtree Country Club.
Boy and girls ages 12 to 18 will play nine to eighteen holes of golf depending on age group.
The tournament is open to the first 30 paid entrants.
The top finishers will advance to the Optimist district tournament, scheduled for Mississippi State University on June 20-21.
Winners at the district tournament will qualify for the Optimist International Junior Golf Championships in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
Entry forms are available at Burningtree Country Club pro shop, Quail Creek, Point Mallard and Indian Hills or by contacting Chris Agnew at 350-7639 or 318-3508.
The entry fee is $15 and must be submitted to: Chris Agnew, 2701 Red Bank Road, Decatur, Ala., 35603 by June 3.
The Optimist International Junior Golf Championships is one of the largest tournaments in world of junior golf.
Annually more than 5,000 young golfers compete in Optimist-sponsored qualifying tournaments.
The junior golf championships are played on four courses in the prestigious PGA National Golf Resort and Spa at Palm Beach Gardens.
