HHS tracksters qualify for state

Hartselle's Katie Wiley, Nikita Stover and Kris Holcomb all turned in state qualifying performances at the Section 5 track meet last weekend.
Wiley placed second in the 100-meter hurdles competition, while Stover won the high jump competition with a leap of 6 feet, 7 inches.
Holcomb qualified with a third-place finish in the 800-meter run.
In earlier action, Stover took top honors in the Cullman Classic with a winning time of 22.59 seconds in the 200-meter dash and a height of 6 feet in the high jump.
He also placed second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.38 seconds.
Trey Clark placed third in the long jump with a length of 18 feet, 11 inches, and the 400-meter relay team of Stover, Clark, Kris Holcombe and Kevin Gilbert placed third with a time of 45.65 seconds.
The team tied for second place with the Brewer High track squad.
In earlier action the track team finished third in a seven-team meet in Guntersville, second in a seven-team meet at Wallace State- Hanceville and third at the Brewer Relays.
